Fábio Garrudo is a pharmacist graduated from Faculdade de Farmácia of the Universidade de Lisboa (Lisbon).  He later pursued his PhD in Bioengineering and Regenerative Medicine (with a. focus on electrospinning and electroconductive scaffolds for neural regeneration) at Instituto Superior Técnico (Lisbon) and at Renssealer Polytechnic Institute (Troy, NY) as a visiting scholar.  After graduating in January 2021, Fábio was awarded a grant to develop biodegradable and electroconductive composites at Instituto de Telecomunicações (Lisbonl). Fábio joined the Tsai lab in March 2024.  He is interested in developing novel in vitro models capable of monitoring real-time cell health, which can be used to study neurodegenerative diseases and new therapeutic approaches.
