Oisín completed his doctorate in Imperial College London, where he used iPSCs and in vitro bioengineering approaches to produce a model of vascularized myocardium, to study the role of endothelial cells as modulators of cardiac electrophysiology. Following this, Oisín worked as a scientist in Industrial research, where he developed a multi-organ-on-chip model to evaluate neurotoxicity of novel xenobiotics. After joining the Tsai Lab in 2023, Oisín now develops iPSC-based models of the blood brain barrier to understand cellular and molecular pathogenic mechanisms in neurodegenerative disease.
